New Team Members in 2016!

We’ve got some huge news for Camp Vineyard Southeast this year! As many of you know, Jeff and Kellie moved to Texas to plant Vineyard College Station. Their plan was to drive back for Camp in June and serve, as they always have, as our Site Pastor and Site Coordinator along with me. However, that plan has changed. The South Central Vineyard Regional Conference is, unfortunately, the same week as Camp Vineyard Southeast. That means that Jeff and Kellie, as new church planters in the region, need to take that opportunity to make connections throughout Texas and Louisiana. The down side is, they won’t be at Camp Vineyard Southeast this year. That’s a bummer. The upside is, they’re going to be helping Vineyard College Station get off to a great start! So, the big question is, who’s going to join me in leading CVSE this year? I’m glad you asked! Site Coordinator – Cory Trube Cory is the youth pastor at the Maryville Vineyard. He’s served at Camp as a Color Team Counselor, Game Team member, and most recently as the coordinator of Neat! Groups in 2015. Cory knows how Camp happens, and is awesome at putting team members in the right spots. As Site Coordinator, he’ll be working in conjunction with the Site Pastor and me to ensure our Color Team Counselors, Neat! Group Leaders and Deans have the info they need to serve the Campers. Personally, I’ve gotten to know Cory over the last couple of years, and he brings the right mix of fun and administrative abilities that the team needs. He’s become a good friend, and I’m confident that he’s...

Evan Brownell is our 2016 Camp Speaker!

We’re super excited to announce that Evan Brownell will be our speaker at Camp Vineyard 2016! Evan is the Youth Pastor at the Vineyard Church in Syracuse, NY and has worked with students for close to 14 years. He has a passion for positioning students to experience God in a relevant way and releasing them to do the stuff Jesus did. Evan and his wife Michela have been married for 7 years and have 2 sons. Together they enjoy taming the outdoors, eating and mentoring younger people. If you’re considering full-time ministry, you definitely want to sign up for his Wednesday Neat! Group. His story is one you need to hear, and he’s got a wide range of experience doing ministry in real ways. You can follow Evan on Instagram: @vineyardyouthny...

Announcing the Band for 2016!

We’re excited to announce that Aaron Leonardy and band will be leading worship for us at Camp Vineyard 2016! This is an interesting group of guys. We intentionally don’t book whole bands for worship at Camp usually, preferring to build a mixed team of teens and adults around a worship leader. However, these guys got on our radar by leading a mini-Worship Track at a retreat, writing a song with the kids, and practicing the Camp philosophy of training up young leaders! And the band name? Don’t worry about it. In their view, it’s more important that they’re serving the kids than posing for brick wall photos and arguing over logos and band names. It’s kind of cool, actually. Sure, it makes writing announcements like this a little more difficult, but we think it represents something neat about the hearts that these guys have. We’re excited to have them lead worship for all of our sessions at Camp and lead our Worship Track – so, if you’re a Camper who wants to learn more about being a part of a band and grow your skills as a musician, be sure you pick the Worship Track as your Neat! Group. We’ve got less than a week to go for the Early Bird rate, and spots are going fast. If you haven’t already, get...

Camp Vineyard 2016 Registration is Now Open!

Registration for Camp Vineyard 2016 is now open at campvineyard.com/register! We can’t believe Camp season is just around the corner. Here’s what pastors and youth leaders need to know: Camp Vineyard 2016 is June 27-July 1 Earlybird registration is $249 for the first 100 Campers registered through March 31, Camper registration is only $259 after that. Adult volunteers are just $219. Earlybird registration also includes a sweet piece of 2016-exclusive Camp swag! New Group Registration (and more)! We’re taking advantage of a new feature in our registration system that will make groups easier than ever to manage. Even better, you have the option of letting parents register their own kids, because they’ll be required to select their church group. No misspellings, no confusion about the church’s name, just a list of church groups that they can select from. Easy! (Note: We’ve tried to pick the name for your church that you use most frequently. For example, Vineyard Chattanooga instead of Chattanooga Vineyard or Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Chattanooga) Also, for the first time, Adult volunteers can let us know what Neat! Groups they’d be interested in helping to facilitate during the week. They’ll do this during the same registration step that Campers would. Finally, we’ve got the option for group leaders to upload scanned copies of the completed release forms, making Check-In even easier on the first day of Camp. If you need a refresher on how the system works, check out this YouTube video from last year. We Want to Expand our Neat! Group Tracks! We’re looking to add at least one 3-day fine arts Neat! Group Track...

An Important Message about CVFL 2015

You know, Camp Vineyard is a lot like church planting. You find a spot, you put a team of great folks together, you pray a lot, and you go for it. A lot of times, it works. Certainly, 2014 was a fantastic first year of Camp in Florida. This year, however, we’re having to cancel Camp Vineyard Florida. It’s not something we do lightly, and it’s not something that hasn’t happened without a lot of thought, prayer, and conversation. However, just like church planting, Camp Vineyard depends on the partners who come together to make it happen. Some key leadership changes in a couple of anchor churches combined with a slow response in registrations left our host churches in an untenable spot. It hurts. I’ve been in touch with the CVFL team throughout the last several weeks, and they were doing everything they could to put this together. But without the numbers and the people, there was no way to move forward. You’ve got questions, I’m sure. The first of which is probably “Wait, I signed up for Florida, what’s going to happen to my registration?” Anyone who signed up for CVFL and paid online through our registration system will receive a full refund immediately. Before this is posted, in fact. (If you mailed a check to the Cape Vineyard, they will be in touch this week.) If you registered through your church group and paid a deposit, check with your group’s leader. We can only refund registrations that we received through our system. The second question might be “Can we still come to Camp at Southeast? Is Camp Vineyard...
