Before clicking the big Register Now! button at the bottom of the page, take a second to be sure you understand the following:
What's the age range?
We accept rising 6th graders through just-graduated 12th graders, or kids from age 11 through age 18. However, if your local church’s age range for their youth group/student ministry is different, we generally defer to their judgment. While we strive to do things that are suited to both ends of the spectrum, we realize that every kid is different. So, if you have a rising 6th grader that has friends a couple of years older than they are, then your child will do just fine. If you’re not sure, or you have a question about the programming, please send us an email.
Why do you want me to register with my group?
We encourage Campers to register through their local church youth group first, though we do allow individuals to register on their own. If you’re registering through your church, download the registration blank in the Parent & Volunteer Pack and turn it in with your payment to your church.
For adult volunteers, we’ll need a little more info. There’s a separate registration form for them, and if you’re registering as a group, you’ll need to hold on to the printed version. Download the Parent & Volunteer Pack to get all of the forms Volunteers will need.
This year, we’ve added the ability to select your church group from a list. Many churches go by different names – i.e. Vineyard Chattanooga vs. Chattanooga Vineyard vs. Vineyard Christian Fellowship of Chattanooga – and this can cause confusion as we’re making cabin and team assignments. If you don’t see your church on the list, pick “other” at the bottom, and enter your church’s name in the Home Church field on the next screen. We’ll be sure to create a group for your church.
What's the story on the Early Bird rate? Can I just reserve a number of spots?
Short version: We’d rather you didn’t.
The Early Bird rate is meant to help out Campers – some of whom have been working/saving since last year – to get a deal on Camp. It also helps our host churches prepare for Camp. While the Early Bird rate is available, we’d like it if you only registered Campers and Volunteers who have put down at least a $100 deposit with you and turned in their registration forms. Our registration system doesn’t allow for a reservation of a number of blank spots, and generic fill-in “Joe Camper” “Suzy Camper” registrations will be deleted and refunded.
Now, it’s pretty much an honor system thing, we’re not going to send large gentlemen in dark suits to check or anything like that. Just use it in good faith, in the spirit it’s intended. Cool? Cool.
NOTE: To qualify for the Early Bird rate, you have to be one of the first 100 Campers registered by 3/31, and have a $100 deposit paid by 3/31. After that, the regular registration rate applies, and you forfeit the discount if you haven’t paid your deposit. We won’t waitlist the Early Bird spots, so once they’re gone, they’re gone!
I'm a youth pastor with a group, how many adult volunteers should I bring?
Ideally, we’d like you to bring one adult volunteer for every 7 kids, with a ratio of male and female volunteers that matches your group. So, a group of 20 with 14 girls and 6 boys should have 2 female and 1 male adult volunteers.
Adult volunteers must be at least 18 years old AND at least 1 year out of high school. No exceptions.
Here’s the deal, though. Any church sending more than 3 kids MUST send at least one volunteer with them. Otherwise, we’ll cancel the registrations and refund their money. It’s not because we like being officious jerks (we don’t), we just want to be sure your kids have a great time at Camp, and this is one way of being sure that happens.
Why do adult volunteers have to pay?
Yeah, we know. We’re so thankful for our adult volunteers who work hard to make Camp happen, and we wish we could bring them all for free. We’re glad to be able to offer a reduced rate for the volunteers as a small way of saying thanks. Many churches opt to pay for their volunteers’ registrations through fundraisers or a regular budget line item. Know that every penny of the registration fee goes to cover our costs, and we do everything we can to keep Camp accessible for everyone: Campers and adults alike.
What if I'm a parent who wants to register all my kids on my own?
See question #2 above. We’d prefer you to register them via the church group that they will be coming with. If that’s not an option, you can register them yourself. Just be sure you have the right church group selected, and we’ll be sure groups stay together.
How do I handle payments for a group?
If you’re registering a group all at once, you’ll have to pay by one credit card or check transaction. If you add more folks to your group later, you can do a second (or third…or fourth…you get the idea) transaction then.
How can I pay?
We accept checks and credit cards via the Active system.
Please make checks payable to:
6028 Shallowford Rd
Chattanooga, TN 37421
The deadline for paying by check is Friday, June 9th.
Why do you need emergency contacts and medication info?
For Campers, we require the name and contact information of a parent or guardian. For Volunteers 18+, this can be a spouse or even someone else who will not be on site. We just want to be sure we know who to call if we need to. Of course, we hope we’ll never have to.
We also require a detailed schedule of medication for any prescription or OTC medications that a Camper takes. We will have a professional medical staff on hand that will handle administering the medications and taking care of any first aid needs. Camper safety is important to us, and we work hard to maintain high standards, especially when it comes to prescription medication.
I registered, what's next?
You’ll receive a confirmation email with links to the Release forms and What to Expect sheets (part of the Parent & Volunteer Pack). If you registered a group, please print these out and distribute them to your group. A completed Parental Consent/Participant Release form will be required of all participants!
Submit Your Forms Online!: You can upload scanned copies of completed forms for each participant! Just imagine having all of that paperwork done for you before Monday Check-In at Camp. That feeling you have right now? That’s called bliss. You can bring the paper forms in a folder as a backup, just in case. But we highly recommend submitting the forms online.
If you elected to pay by check, someone from Vineyard Chattanooga will be in contact with you.
