Less than two months until Camp! Can you believe it? Wow! Things are kicking into high gear, and we’ve got more news for you!
2018’s Worship Leaders
For our 10th anniversary, we wanted to go back to our roots. Part of our core mission has always been to empower and promote young leaders into positions of real responsibility. With that in mind, we set out to put together a team of young worship leaders from across the regions represented at Camp. It’s taken us longer than we had intended, but good things are worth the wait: We’re so excited to announce our worship leaders for 2018 are Felicity Ropp, Clayton Gilbert, and Alberto Leong!
Felicity is a five-year Camp Vineyard veteran with a life-long love ofworship and a passion for leading others into the presence of God. She has grown up in the Vineyard and currently attends the Greenville Vineyard in upstate SC. Felicity discovered her love of music at age five, when she started taking piano lessons. Since then, she has had the opportunity to study guitar and vocal performance. She began playing on the Greenville Vineyard worship team at age ten. Now, she is a rising senior in high school and regularly leads worship at church and her school Bible study.
Clayton is the youth pastor at the Lakeland Vineyard, and, starting in May, will be transitioning to be their worship pastor as well. He’s been involved in both youth and worship ministry for about eight years and is soon to be in his third year as a youth pastor. Discussing existential questions, eating, writing music, and pretending to play rugby are a few his most idyllic pleasures.
Alberto was born and raised in Panama City, Panama. He’s worked as translator for missionary teams and a worship leader at Crossroads Church in Panama. In 2013, he moved to Knoxville to attend Johnson University and pursue a double degree in Bible & Audio Production. He’s served at the Vineyard Church Maryville since 2014 in the youth and worship ministries. Currently, he’s the main venue worship leader at the Vineyard Church Knoxville.
(No, they didn’t coordinate their backgrounds for their photos. You kids and your brick walls. ? )
Waitlist Update
We’ve been working through the process of verifying the registrations, removing duplicates, and taking cancellations as they come in. We’ll start pulling kids from the waitlist this week.
IF YOU ARE A YOUTH PASTOR/GROUP LEADER: You can do us a HUGE favor right now by passing along any cancellations ASAP. We know kids and parents have plans change, and with 2 months to go until Camp, there will be quite a few who need to drop out. Also, we know you may have registered someone you assumed was going, but hasn’t actually paid a deposit or even turned in a form yet. (Technically you shouldn’t have done that, but we know it happens. We’re still friends.) So if you’ve got a Camper that’s dropping out, let us know. Every spot we open up is a spot for a kid who is eager to go to Camp!
IF YOU’RE ON THE WAITLIST: Don’t panic! We’ve got time, and we’ll keep you updated. We’re working on multiple solutions, as always, to get as many people at Camp as we possibly can.
Thanks for your help and your patience. We’re excited for Camp, and we can’t wait to share more about a couple of special 10th anniversary things!
Thank you for sending out this reassuring update. We appreciate all you do to ensure our kids have an amazing experience with God and friends.
Many Blessings,
Ally and Lana Wilkinson
So happy for these young leaders! That’s awesome.
