We’ve got some huge news for Camp Vineyard Southeast this year! As many of you know, Jeff and Kellie moved to Texas to plant Vineyard College Station. Their plan was to drive back for Camp in June and serve, as they always have, as our Site Pastor and Site Coordinator along with me. However, that plan has changed.
The South Central Vineyard Regional Conference is, unfortunately, the same week as Camp Vineyard Southeast. That means that Jeff and Kellie, as new church planters in the region, need to take that opportunity to make connections throughout Texas and Louisiana. The down side is, they won’t be at Camp Vineyard Southeast this year. That’s a bummer. The upside is, they’re going to be helping Vineyard College Station get off to a great start!
So, the big question is, who’s going to join me in leading CVSE this year? I’m glad you asked!
Site Coordinator – Cory Trube
Cory is the youth pastor at the Maryville Vineyard. He’s served at Camp as a Color Team Counselor, Game Team member, and most recently as the coordinator of Neat! Groups in 2015. Cory knows how Camp happens, and is awesome at putting team members in the right spots. As Site Coordinator, he’ll be working in conjunction with the Site Pastor and me to ensure our Color Team Counselors, Neat! Group Leaders and Deans have the info they need to serve the Campers. Personally, I’ve gotten to know Cory over the last couple of years, and he brings the right mix of fun and administrative abilities that the team needs. He’s become a good friend, and I’m confident that he’s going to be a great Site Coordinator for us.
Site Pastor – Kent Moore
Kent’s been a part of Camp Vineyard in one capacity or another almost since the beginning. As both a senior pastor and a middle school educator, he’s uniquely equipped to serve the kids and adults at Camp. He’s served as a Color Team Counselor, run more than a few games, helped create the Neat! Group programming back in 2011, and has regularly been one of the Deans in charge of students and volunteers. Kent’s such a natural fit for the job, and I’m excited that he’s going to be bringing his talents to the team as the Site Pastor.
Now, Jeff and Kellie are still around. For the last few weeks, they’ve been helping me be sure that Cory and Kent know all the ins and outs of running a Camp Vineyard site, and they’ll be heavily involved as we enter the last month of planning.
Which, speaking of, there’s just one month to go! Get signed up for Camp! And, as always, if you have questions, just drop us a line on the contact page. Can’t wait until Camp!
