Update: Registration for CV Southeast and CV Florida are now open!
That’s right! Camp Vineyard Florida is kicking off this July!
We couldn’t be more excited about launching our first-ever second site for Camp Vineyard. We’ve been working since 2012 to make sure the site has all the important stuff that makes Camp Vineyard special. It’s more than just games, Color Teams, and crazy traditions. Those are important, but there’s a reason behind all of it. We’ve been working for almost two years to be sure that reason stays the same, whether we’re at Woodland Camp, the new site in Florida, or anywhere else we may find ourselves in the future!
Camp Vineyard Southeast will be June 23-27, 2014 at Woodland Camp.
Camp Vineyard Florida will be July 7-11, 2014, at the Lake Yale Baptist Conference Center. Let me introduce you to the team that’s going to make it happen:
First up is Ramon Bermudez from the Miami Vineyard. He’s the youth pastor there, and has been a part of Camp Vineyard since his first visit in 2011. He’ll be handling what we call the Site Director role for Camp Vineyard Florida. Ramon’s an awesome guy who’s built an outstanding youth ministry in Miami, and we’re excited to have him on our team!
Next is Shane Davis, youth pastor at the St. Pete Vineyard. Shane is a Camp Vineyard vet who’s served as a Color Team Counselor, Cabin Counselor, Clear Team member, and, last year, as the coordinator for our Neat! Groups during the week. Shane will be taking on the new Site Coordinator role, taking care of the details, and working with Ramon to be sure the week is jam-packed with great teaching, fun games, and all the things that make Camp Vineyard special.
Finally, there’s Chris Cahall, senior pastor of the St. Pete Vineyard. He’s going to be the Site Pastor, and will oversee the Deans as well. Chris and his family have been a part of Camp Vineyard since 2009, and he has a real vision for calling out the next generation of leaders. Chris is a fantastic pastor, and we know that the Campers, Counselors, and Clear Team will be in good hands.
Jeff and I are planning to attend Camp Vineyard Florida, so we’ll be around. (We wouldn’t miss this!) But the FL team will be running the show.
So, how will this all work? Well, both the Camp Vineyard Southeast and Camp Vineyard Florida teams will work together. Just like visiting Disney World and Disneyland, there are some differences, but a LOT that’s the same, and you’ll know that there’s one team working together to make it all great. You’ll still visit campvineyard.com for registration info, but you’ll be seeing more info from the FL team here, on facebook, and throughout the Camp Vineyard universe.
We’re excited, 2014 is shaping up to be our best year yet!
